When I started
I started training to enlist in the Marine Corps. more than thirteen months ago.
How I started
I started going to the weekly PT sessions my local USMC recruiting depot was offering with my older brother and simply fell in love with the CrossFit type of workouts we were accomplishing two to three times a week, and now, I finish a weight training WOD every weekday and enjoy weekend recreational running and body weight training.
Why I love it
I love the feeling of accomplishing a really tough workout and learning what I'm good at, and what I may need to work on in order to better by time, personal records, ect.(Plus, with time, you get to dislike the feeling of not having PT'd during the day. You feel heavy and gross and just have the urge to throw on a pair of running shoes and put a few miles under your feet.)
How I stay motivated
I remember that the job field I am entering has absolutely no tolerance for weakness or lack of discipline, and my drive to become a US Marine is greater than my drive to be average.
